Our cousins, Claire and Riley, came over to play with us today. We played inside, outside, and even watched some of the movie because of Winn Dixie- which by the way, is a precious movie if you haven't seen it. One of the highlights of this playdate was conversation I overheard between Claire and Graham. It started off like this- Claire is telling (or reminding) Graham that she is going to marry him when she grows up. Graham responds with, "Claire, I want to marry Hannah first, then you, and then my sister." Then he scratches his head and says, "But the rules are you can't marry someone you are related to, right mom?" So I had to explain that technically, Graham and Claire are not blood related cousins- and so in reality, yes, the two of them could get married- but he and Mallory Kate could not. Then, I see both 6 year old minds churning. Then Graham asked, "Well Mom, then why are me and Claire cousins if we aren't really related?" So then I had to proceed into the conversation of real versus step family, etc. Boy, that was a rough one to tackle! We'll see their thoughts on this in 20 or so years! Haha! Oooh I love that little car that Mallory Kate is riding in! We need one of those for Taylor. We'd never get him out of it though. :)

that was the cutest conversation-it's amazing to watch those wheels in action and hear what thoughts are churning! but, you know what the next questions will be - so best start getting prepared to explain the birds & the bees! can't wait to see you all next week, sans the big guy. He owes us a few visits-hehehe-love to all, auntie mari-aka-lovin'me some stowes!
So cute...I love "eavesdropping" on kids conversations. It is so funny to hear what they have to say.
